Santhosh Sivan: Hello, what are the things a fresher must consider before taking offer from a technology company?

Mr. Abraham: Hi Sivan, That’s a question which is on every student's mind. Every student wants to get a great start to their career and so choosing the right organisation is important. The factors could be many, but in my opinion the key ones are - learning opportunity the organisation provides, the kind of role (complexity, multiple technologies etc) you are offered, the stability of the organisation and the right environment for engineers to excel in their craft.

Vishal Guha: Hi sir, how should one evaluate a job offer in the technology industry?

Mr. Abraham: Hi Guha, by job offer I think you mean the role that the companies offer. Every organisation is trying to attract the talent and to do so they make the right job offer to attract the right talent. While every organstation will have their own value proposition, you can evaluate the job offer based on what your pull factors are. If you are looking for working in a high tech environment and build on your skills, then you can look for these aspect in the job offer, on the other hand if brand is what attracts you, then established organisations with great brand may be your choice.

Prabhas Kumar: Sir, with world going digital what is the scope of software developers in the digital technology domain?

Mr. Abraham: Hi Kumar, That’s a great question. If you look at it, the digital world is nothing but great application of technology. The software developers have a key role to play in this world of digital. Many industries like banking, retail are going digital, and this creates more demand for tech geeks to transform organisation into digital world. This opens opportunities in domains artificial intelligence, machine learning, event driven analytics, data science etc.

Manoj Joshi: Hi sir, what is the success mantra of having a successful career in the technology industry?

Mr. Abraham: Hi Manoj, There is no one mantra for a successful career, what I can say is that you got to follow your passion, develop your skills, and play with your strengths. Strong perseverance, determination and resilience are required to achieve your goals and become successful. This is not only for students who are starting their career, but for all professionals at all levels. Develop your skills and not the frills.

Automation therefore is essential for any industry to improve their time to market. IT industry is not different.
