Tesco establishes a Business Services Centre in Budapest to serve its Central European operations
At a press conference on March 11, 2019, Tesco officially declared establishing its Business Services centre in Budapest, Hungary. Dr. Sumit Mitra, CEO – Tesco Business Services and Matt Simister, CEO – Tesco Central Europe made the announcement in partnership with the Hungarian government. The new Business Services Centre is the part of Tesco Business Services, a multi-disciplinary team serving our shoppers a little better every day across Tesco’s markets. Tesco Business Services in Budapest will provide dedicated support to Tesco colleagues and customers across Central Europe.
“Choosing Hungary as a location to establish our new Business Service Centre is not only a milestone in the history of our Hungarian business, but signals Tesco’s strong commitment to further developing our business in Central Europe and in Hungary.” said Matt Simister, Tesco CEO for Central Europe.

At its total capacity, Tesco Business Services will create 800 specialist positions in four main areas:
- Payroll and People administration
- Administration of Product buying and selling
- Customer engagement centres
